What is the 1-on-1 ARP?

The 1-on-1 Advanced Research Program (ARP) is a customized program where students work directly with a professor, either to develop a unique research paper or to gain hands-on experience as a research assistant (RA). This intensive program offers close mentorship, allowing students to deepen their expertise and maximize their research potential in a field of their choice.

Program Structure

The Capstone Research Program is structured over 8 months to guide you through the entire research process

Phase 1: Topic Selection and Research Design

You’ll work one-on-one with your professor to select a research topic and outline a research plan, establishing the foundation for your project.

Phase 2: Foundational Learning and Methodology

Through personalized sessions, you’ll build expertise in the core concepts and research methods specific to your topic, preparing for hands-on research work.

Phase 3: Data Collection and Analysis

Engage in data collection and analysis under your professor’s guidance, applying research techniques to gather meaningful insights and refine your project.

Phase 4: Writing and Presentation

Complete and polish your research paper with feedback from your professor, culminating in a formal presentation and potential opportunities for publication.
