Frequently Asked Questions

Students are encouraged to explore topics based on their interests and academic goals. Before the program begins, we collect input from students and finalize the topic through discussions with the professor. If you're unsure where to start, your professor will suggest several topics to choose from.

Each class is kept small and intimate, with a maximum of 10 students per professor. This limit ensures quality interaction, in-depth feedback, and a highly personalized experience. We kindly ask for your understanding, as we cannot accommodate all applicants due to this structure.

Our TAs are graduate students from top universities—such as PhD candidates from UChicago and UC Berkeley, or Master’s students from Harvard. They provide academic and writing support throughout the program, and students are encouraged to reach out anytime for help.

Yes. The program includes over 50 hours of class time with professors and TAs—more than a standard 3-credit university course. In addition, structured group sessions support paper completion. In 2024, 100% of students completed their papers, with several submitted to academic journals.

The most important traits are curiosity and a willingness to learn. We’re not looking for perfection—we're looking for students ready to challenge themselves. In 2024, one team of first-time researchers reviewed over 1,000 papers in 10 days and completed a publishable manuscript, which their professor later submitted to a journal.

The program takes place in-person at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
